Consulting Skills

Consulting skills are not the same as technical skills or industry knowledge that are associated with a particular business.

Consulting Skills (or Consultative Skills) are the skills and abilities that enable an individual to interact effectively with others (e.g., clients) to resolve business problems.

Examples of consulting skills include:

• Interviewing skills (to collect information)
• Research skills
• Communication skills (written and verbal)
• Presentation skills
• Analytical reasoning skills
